Fraud Investigator, Overnight Team (Fintech)

Location: Remote in the UK. Two overnight shift patterns are available: 5pm–1:30am or 9pm–5:30am, Monday–Sunday, with a 1-in-3 weekend rotation.

Salary: £27,700–£33,600 per year, plus an early evening allowance of £2,503 or a late evening allowance of £5,006 per year, depending on start time.

What you will do

• Investigate unauthorised and authorised card and faster payment fraud, as well as third-party account takeover attempts.
• Communicate with other banks, CIFAS, and law enforcement about suspected fraud and related criminal activity.
• Protect customers affected by fraud by safeguarding compromised accounts and applying appropriate remedial actions.
• Review flagged transaction data, gather evidence, probe for additional information, and make decisions to release or block transactions.
• Resolve fraud claims, create and action indemnities and defunds, submit accounts for closure where appropriate, and review customer limit increase requests.
• Make outbound calls and provide empathetic advice to customers affected by or at risk of scams.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.
• Previous experience in fraud, banking, financial services, or a related field.
• Strong investigation, problem-solving, decision-making, persuasion, and empathy skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with the wider team, and meet regulated and unregulated deadlines.
