Maintenance Planner (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Must be positioned in or near Diboll, TX; Alexandria, LA; or Hope, AR, United States. Periodic travel to assigned sites is required. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

What you will do

• Convert approved maintenance work requests into detailed, accurate, and executable work orders.
• Define job scopes, work steps, technical instructions, labor requirements, materials, tools, permits, and contractor needs.
• Create complete work packages and coordinate material reservations, procurement, stores, equipment, and outside services.
• Maintain planned backlogs and ensure work orders meet Ready-to-Schedule criteria across three assigned sites.
• Collaborate with Gatekeepers, Schedulers, Supervisors, Operations, Engineering, EHS, Procurement, Stores, contractors, and local work owners.
• Improve standard job plans, work package quality, equipment records, maintenance history, and work management practices.

Requirements

• Experience in maintenance, operations, technical trades, maintenance planning, or maintenance supervision in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or industrial maintenance systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, manuals, equipment documentation, procedures, and technical specifications.
• Experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, Infor, or similar platforms.
• Strong organizational, planning, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to support multiple facilities.
• Willingness to travel periodically to assigned sites and unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Technical certification, skilled trade qualification, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• Experience with planned backlog management, centralized maintenance organizations, and standard job plans.
• Knowledge of work permits, lockout/tagout, regulatory requirements, and process safety management.
• Experience coordinating materials, procurement, stores, contractors, rental equipment, or maintenance reliability initiatives.
• Familiarity with preventive, predictive, condition-based, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies and performance indicators.
