Senior Engineer, Electrical (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; travel up to 10% may include domestic and international travel.

Annual salary: $110,000–$130,000, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead the design, testing, debugging, and validation of complex electrical hardware and embedded systems.
• Create schematics, oversee PCB layouts, conduct design reviews, and develop comprehensive test plans.
• Document test results, design updates, and technical decisions throughout product development.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams across the product lifecycle.
• Apply and improve design-control, risk-management, and documentation practices for regulated products.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Expertise in circuit design and simulation using SPICE, Altium Designer, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and CAN, I2C, and SPI communication protocols.
• Experience with product development in a regulated or documented design environment.
• Ability to work in office, laboratory, clean-room, and manufacturing environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded software using C or C++.
• Experience in medical device, diagnostics, or other regulated product development.
• Experience supporting verification, validation, or regulatory submission documentation.
