Principal Engineer (Electrical) (Medical Devices)

Location: Warrendale, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite role

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year, plus an annual target bonus opportunity of 8% of base salary.

What you will do

• Manage electrical engineering activities across the lifecycle of on-market medical devices and laboratory equipment.
• Drive design, development, integration testing, and root cause analysis for complex electronic systems.
• Design and improve automation tools, custom test fixtures, and specialized hardware for production and product validation.
• Perform failure analysis for field and manufacturing issues, including component faults, ESD, soldering, and EMI.
• Evaluate supplier changes and component obsolescence, leading electrical-component requalification efforts.
• Analyze field returns, address customer complaints, and contribute to CAPA activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline with 5–7 years of relevant experience in automated test fixtures.
• Proficiency with Python, LabView, Matlab, and data-analysis or automation software.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a production environment, including PCBs, connectors, cables, sensors, batteries, and power-management circuits.
• Experience with Altium, PSpice, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other electrical design or test tools.
• Familiarity with FDA QSR, ISO regulations, IEC 60601, design controls, document controls, and design verification and validation.
• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States and maintain that authorization without employer sponsorship. English proficiency is required for workplace communication and regulated documentation.
