Principal Software Engineer- Data Platforms

What you will do

• Lead the hands-on delivery of reliable, scalable data pipelines and datasets for AI discoverability, analytics, reporting, and workflow automation.
• Build, evolve, and operate ingestion and processing capabilities for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Implement metadata and data quality practices that support cross-record querying, traceability, and AI-ready data access.
• Partner with architects, AI engineers, workflow engineers, and domain experts to deliver performant and trustworthy data capabilities.
• Set high standards for data engineering practices, mentor engineers through code and delivery, and resolve complex data challenges.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience building and operating production data pipelines for analytics, AI/ML, and enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with structured and unstructured data ingestion, transformation, enrichment, indexing, and lifecycle management.
• Ability to deliver production-grade data systems focused on quality, reliability, scalability, observability, and operational support.
• Experience enabling cross-entity queries, contextual linking, and performant data access for AI and reporting use cases.
• Principal-level technical impact through delivery, mentorship, and cross-team collaboration rather than line management.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting GenAI, NLP, or AI-driven discovery and reporting through curated datasets and data pipelines.
• Production experience with cloud data platforms and tooling, including Databricks and AWS.
• Experience with regulated or quality-sensitive domains such as life sciences or GxP-aligned environments.
