Core Platform Developer (Python)

What you will do

• Design and build shared backend services, frameworks, reusable libraries, and developer tooling.
• Develop platform capabilities for service templates, authentication and authorization, API standards, observability, error handling, and shared runtime utilities.
• Improve developer experience through automation, documentation, onboarding patterns, and paved-road workflows.
• Define and evolve standards for service architecture, API design, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Partner with application developers, infrastructure engineers, security teams, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable platform solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD, debugging, production support, reliability improvements, and AI-assisted developer workflows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial work with backend systems, platform engineering, or internal developer tooling.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience building production-quality services and tooling.
• Experience with backend services, APIs, shared engineering components, service architecture, authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Node, or similar backend technologies.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across engineering teams with different needs and levels of maturity.

Nice to have

• Experience building shared engineering platforms, internal developer tooling, service frameworks, or common backend infrastructure.
• Familiarity with service templates, internal portals, reusable libraries, or governance workflows.
• Experience improving observability, production support, and operational standards across multiple services or teams.
• Exposure to AI/LLM-enabled developer workflows, internal copilots, or automation tooling.
• Experience in financial systems, regulated environments, or other high-reliability domains.
