Software Engineer (Data)

What you will do

• Build and maintain ingestion pipelines using Fivetran, AWS DMS, and custom solutions.
• Own orchestration that schedules data movement and recovers reliably from failures.
• Build and manage data infrastructure as code with Terraform across AWS services.
• Develop secure, enterprise-grade connectors for HR, payroll, and other customer systems.
• Connect trusted data to AI agents and services, including through MCP connectors.
• Work with product stakeholders and engineers to scope scalable solutions and meet enterprise security standards.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Python and SQL.
• A few years of experience building and running production data pipelines.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform, and hands-on AWS experience with services such as Lambda, ECS, Glue, S3, and RDS.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT, orchestration, software engineering fundamentals, testing, and secure application and infrastructure design.
• Experience with customer-facing data integrations, including HRIS or payroll feeds over SFTP and in EDI format, is valuable.
• Experience with MCP server development or preparing data for AI agents through ontology modelling, knowledge graphs, context, or semantic layers is valuable.
