Data Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with attendance in the office 3 days a week

What you will do

• Build and maintain data services for storage and integration layers.
• Ingest, transform, and serve scientific data for research applications.
• Develop a reliable, high-velocity platform for scientific research.
• Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable production systems on GCP.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and ML researchers across projects.

Requirements

• Experience in data engineering and service-oriented architectures.
• Extensive software engineering experience, including software design and architecture.
• Strong experience writing production code in Python.
• Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, cloud computing, and secure scalable production systems.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary environments, adapt across domains, and work across the technology stack.
• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience managing scientific and experimental wet-lab data in a pharmaceutical context.
• Experience with life sciences data, bioinformatics, computational chemistry, or biomedical research data.
• Experience building backend systems with Django, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, PostgreSQL, or dbt.
• Experience designing relational data models with Python-based interfaces.
• Cloud engineering experience in compute-heavy environments, preferably on GCP.
