Senior Legal Counsel (Energy)

What you will do

• Act as the primary legal and compliance partner for the Transformation of Industry business in China.
• Advise leadership on strategic, commercial, operational, corporate, and regulatory matters.
• Lead the review, negotiation, and approval of customer contracts, supplier agreements, settlements, and strategic cooperation arrangements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks across business operations.
• Collaborate with compliance, finance, procurement, sales, project management, HR, EHS, and tax functions.
• Manage disputes, claims, investigations, regulatory inquiries, and external counsel while supporting compliance training and awareness.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in China with strong knowledge of international commercial legal practice.
• More than 10 years of post-qualification experience in a multinational company, leading law firm, or similarly complex business environment.
• Experience with commercial contracts, project businesses, manufacturing or industrial operations, dispute resolution, compliance, and corporate governance.
• Knowledge of anti-corruption, antitrust, data privacy, export control, sanctions, and third-party risk management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, drafting, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional fluency in both Chinese and English is required.
