Research Technician

hirify.global Grenoble conducts fundamental research in structural biology and develops advanced instrumentation, methods, and services on the European Photon and Neutron science campus.

What you will do

• Operate the automated high-throughput crystallography platform, including liquid handling, imaging, and crystal-harvesting robotic systems.
• Liaise with users of the High Throughput Crystallization Laboratory.
• Develop automated crystallography and fragment-screening pipelines based on CrystalDirect technology and CRIMS software.
• Perform DNA cloning, protein expression, purification, protein crystallography, and fragment screening in internal research projects.
• Manage laboratory orders and consumables and maintain robotic equipment, coordinating external repairs when needed.
• Collaborate with team members on research projects involving biomedical and biotechnological targets.

Requirements

• Degree in biochemistry or a related field from a technical school or university.
• Skills in protein production for structural studies, protein crystallization, and the use of robotic laboratory equipment.
• Experience with diffraction data collection or fragment screening.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate with crystallization-facility users.
• Motivation to acquire new skills and contribute to method development.
• Fluent English and good computer skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in structural analysis using macromolecular crystallography, ligand screening, or analysis of small molecule–protein interactions.
