TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer I (Process Engineer) (Aerospace): Translating aircraft design intent into manufacturing instructions and integrated dossiers for A320 and A220 production with an accent on work preparation, shop-floor support, tooling, quality control, and safety. Focus on optimizing work sequences, implementing first installations, maintaining routings and bills of material, and incorporating production feedback into industrial requirements.

Location: Mobile Area, Alabama, United States; onsite 100% of the time

hirify.global Defence and Space operates a U.S. commercial aircraft manufacturing facility producing A320 Family and A220 aircraft.

What you will do

  • Translate aircraft design intent into technical manufacturing instructions and an integrated Manufacturing Dossier.
  • Define standardized, time-optimized work sequences and support synchronized station enablement.
  • Create, update, and prioritize routings, bills of material, statements of intent, and time calculations.
  • Drive first-installation implementation and establish feedback loops with production teams.
  • Specify requirements for jigs, tools, tooling, machines, and other industrial assets.
  • Provide direct technical shop-floor support, resolve recurring work-preparation issues, and contribute industrial requirements during product design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Recent Bachelor’s graduate, or three years of hirify.global experience without a degree, or five years of industry experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and technical standards, and work with the metric system.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering methods and tools, aircraft design and manufacturing rules, and data analysis.
  • Strong communication, presentation, teamwork, initiative, flexibility, and independent working skills.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

  • Three or more years of experience interpreting engineering drawings.
