Field Director, Medical Science Liaisons (Obesity and Related Conditions)

Location: Orlando, Florida, United States; Southeast territory includes Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. The role involves field leadership across the region.

Expected annual salary: USD 223,527.05–302,418.95.

What you will do

• Lead, manage, coach, and develop a regional team of Medical Science Liaisons.
• Provide strategic direction for field medical plans, tactics, and Scientific Engagement Plans.
• Oversee scientific engagement with opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and population health decision makers.
• Guide communication of clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to healthcare institutions and integrated delivery networks.
• Elevate field insights, support congress activities, and participate in cross-functional medical strategy projects.
• Ensure compliant execution, timely administrative responsibilities, and effective collaboration between field medical and commercial teams.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 4 years of Medical Affairs experience, or master’s degree and 8 years, or bachelor’s degree and 10 years.
• At least 4 years of managerial or team, project, program, or resource-allocation leadership experience.
• Experience in Scientific or Medical Affairs at a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
• Experience in clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.
• Strong collaboration, coaching, strategic planning, and compliance leadership skills.
• Experience as a Medical Science Liaison and expertise in obesity and related conditions are preferred.

Nice to have

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or another doctoral degree.
• Seven years of industry experience in Scientific or Medical Affairs.
• Seven or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.
• Three or more years of Medical Science Liaison experience.
• Obesity and related conditions expertise.
