DCC Operator I - Midwest (Power Distribution/Grid Operations): Monitoring, analyzing, and managing distribution-grid outage events while coordinating field resources and modeling restoration activity in OMS, DMS, and SCADA, with an accent on feeder-level dispatching, switching, tagging, and emergency response. Focus on controlling distribution equipment, maintaining accurate system models, and solving complex restoration problems during 24/7 rotational operations.

Location: Harrison, Ohio; onsite at a designated company facility. The role requires a 24/7 rotating shift schedule and on-call responsibilities. Applicants must be able to work lawfully in the United States without current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship.

What you will do

  • Direct feeder-level outage dispatching, analyze fault information, and coordinate field resources to restore power.
  • Maintain accurate outage and distribution-system models in the Outage Management System and Distribution Management System.
  • Authorize, record, and model Hot Line Tags, Clearance tags, Do Not Operate tags, and Information tags.
  • Monitor DSCADA and DMS systems, operate distribution equipment remotely, and respond to system alarms.
  • Support restoration during major outages, substation events, transmission interruptions, emergencies, and storm operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Passing score on the System Operator/Power Dispatching II test required for consideration.
  • Successful completion of the Operator Training Certification program, including classroom, on-the-job, simulator training, and assessments.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure 24/7 rotating-shift environment and perform on-call duties.
  • Ability to work onsite at the designated company facility in Harrison, Ohio.
  • Employment-based U.S. visa sponsorship is not available; lawful U.S. work authorization is required.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree.
  • Previous operator experience.
  • Knowledge of distribution systems, equipment, and operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated computer and technical aptitude.
