Medical Advisor (Obesity)

Location: Tokyo, Japan

What you will do

• Lead and develop local medical strategy and launch-readiness plans for assigned obesity products, including pipeline and pre-launch products.
• Collaborate with brand, commercial, clinical development, regulatory, safety, value and access, and global or regional medical teams.
• Plan and execute evidence-generation activities, publications, medical events, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and expert panels.
• Develop and manage local hirify.global-sponsored study protocols and work with Global Study Operations on study preparation, implementation, completion, and site selection.
• Engage external experts and stakeholders to generate scientific insights and provide medical expertise for health economics and reimbursement requests.
• Oversee internal and outsourced medical programs, including vendors, logistics, timelines, and compliance with applicable regulations and company processes.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in life science or a relevant field, or equivalent education.
• At least two years of pharmaceutical industry experience or proven collaboration with industry in academia.
• Experience in a medical department or clinical development, including clinical study management and conduct.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, commercialization, and business practices.
• Fluency in Japanese and English is required.
• Strong clinical research, medical writing, communication, presentation, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• MD, PharmD, or PhD.
• Therapeutic-area expertise and an established scientific network, or the ability to build one.
• Experience with pre-launch planning, launch readiness, or pipeline product strategy.
• Finance and budgeting experience.
• Project management skills.
