Japanese Editorial Analyst

Location: Remote in Indonesia; candidates must be located in Indonesia. Monday–Friday, UCAN schedule, 10:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. local time.

What you will do

• Review series-level and episodic synopses for accuracy before publication.
• Apply error codes across quality categories and determine whether synopses pass or fail.
• Assign error severity ratings on a 1–4 scale for failed synopses.
• Participate in group calibration sessions to resolve evaluation disagreements.
• Join quality syncs with the client team to discuss standards, edge cases, and feedback.

Requirements

• Native or near-native Japanese fluency and exceptional command of written English.
• Background in film, television, or entertainment, with knowledge of storytelling across genres and formats.
• Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to make consistent pass/fail decisions under time pressure.
• Comfort working with structured digital workflows and data-entry tools.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to participate in calibration activities.

Nice to have

• Experience in copy editing, content writing, metadata, localization, or entertainment quality control.
• Familiarity with streaming content across genres and regions.
• Experience with RLHF or annotation workflows.
• Ability to identify culturally sensitive and inclusive language issues.
• Airtable experience.
