Director, Offsite Energy Investments - Walmart Energy

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas, United States — Home Office

Salary: $110,000–$220,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Build and execute a global origination strategy for long-term commercial agreements and strategic energy partnerships.
• Source, evaluate, and maintain a pipeline of opportunities across utilities, developers, infrastructure providers, and emerging energy technologies.
• Structure and negotiate complex, multi-party, long-duration contracts in partnership with Legal and Finance.
• Lead execution from diligence and approvals through contracting and ongoing performance management.
• Develop relationships with developers, utilities, financiers, advisors, policymakers, and other external stakeholders.
• Build and lead a high-performing team while establishing scalable processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in deal origination, energy procurement, project development, project finance, corporate development, strategic partnerships, or related commercial roles.
• Track record negotiating and closing long-term, high-value commercial agreements in energy, infrastructure, utilities, or other regulated or asset-heavy sectors.
• Experience originating opportunities, developing commercial relationships, and creating transaction pipelines in competitive markets.
• Strong financial analysis and commercial decision-making skills, including NPV, IRR, contract economics, credit, and risk frameworks.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in the renewable energy industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, or 7 years of experience in Finance, Business, or a related area.

• 5+ years leading teams focused on origination, development, or capital formation for renewable energy projects.
• Experience commercializing or executing renewable energy investments and securing related partnerships.
• Experience in competitive and regulated energy markets or a large global organization.
• Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
