What you will do

  • Provide professional nursing care and navigate patients, families, and caregivers through healthcare-system barriers.
  • Assess and monitor oncology therapies, assist physicians with examinations and procedures, and communicate clinical information.
  • Educate patients and families, assess their needs, and coordinate access to internal and community resources.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central venous access devices.
  • Triage patient and family calls, document care, support patient flow, and coordinate with clinical and administrative departments.
  • Mentor less experienced nurses and provide nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program; a BSN is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
  • Current or pending RN license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Knowledge of cancer-treatment medications and oncology nursing practices is preferred.
  • Ability to handle and lift patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.

Nice to have

  • Current or pending oncology certification.
  • BSN qualification.
  • Experience in an oncology environment.
