Registered Nurse (RN), Inpatient Oncology Float Pool (Oncology) (Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy): Delivering evidence-based inpatient oncology care for adult patients, including assessments, care planning, symptom management, medication administration, and interdisciplinary coordination with an accent on chemotherapy safety, central line care, and patient education. Focus on managing infusion reactions and oncologic emergencies, handling hazardous drugs, documenting care in Epic, and supporting quality improvement and clinical research protocols.

Location: 300 Mount Auburn St, Cambridge, MA 02138; 100% onsite

Salary: $44.14–$109.51 per hour

What you will do

  • Deliver direct inpatient oncology nursing care, including assessments, individualized care plans, symptom management, and evaluation of outcomes.
  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies according to protocols and ONS standards.
  • Manage ports and PICC lines, including access, maintenance, blood draws, infusion equipment, and PPE.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, side effects, self-care, and discharge instructions.
  • Document care, medication administration, and patient education accurately in Epic.
  • Participate in quality and safety activities, clinical research protocols, interdisciplinary coordination, handoffs, and patient throughput.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required.
  • Associate degree in Nursing required; an associate-degree nurse must complete a BSN within four years. A BSN is strongly preferred.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate required or obtainable within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification required. ACLS is required depending on the work area.
  • Recent RN experience, acute care nursing, oncology or hematology experience, and Epic experience are preferred.
  • Ability to recognize oncologic emergencies, manage hazardous drugs and biohazards, follow infection-prevention standards, and work with rotating weekends or extended hours as needed.
