What you will do

  • Escort patients and support efficient patient flow between examination, physician, and treatment rooms.
  • Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes, and other patient data before visits.
  • Assist physicians and clinicians with examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Administer delegated subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
  • Prepare, stock, and disinfect examination and treatment rooms, and order supplies as needed.
  • Manage patient calls, referrals, prescriptions, scheduling updates, records, and other clinical administrative duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
  • Current BCLS certification is required.
  • Medical Assistant program graduation certificate and Certified Medical Assistant credential are preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, handle and lift patients, and occasionally lift items up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an oncology and hematology clinic environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience as a Surgical Medical Assistant.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant credential.
