Accounting Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, based in New York City, with at least 3 days per week in the NYC office

Salary: $130k–$150k annually, plus bonus and equity options.

hirify.global is building an AI-powered infrastructure layer for global commerce that combines payments, AI, stablecoins, compliance, risk, fraud prevention, reconciliation, and customer support.

What you will do

• Manage external financial statement audits, including auditor communication, PBC requests, fieldwork logistics, issue resolution, and audit-ready workpapers.
• Prepare technical accounting memos covering revenue presentation under ASC 606, reserves and loss estimates, capitalized software, equity, and stock compensation.
• Own monthly close and consolidation across legal entities, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, foreign currency translation, and consolidated reporting.
• Account for payments settlement activity, merchant payables, in-transit funds, sponsor bank and FBO reconciliations, restricted cash, interchange, network costs, chargebacks, refunds, and merchant credit loss reserves.
• Improve the close calendar, reconciliation automation, documentation, and accounting and tax systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience at a mid-tier or Big 4 firm.
• Direct accounting experience in payments, fintech, banking, lending, or another regulated financial services business, with an understanding of settlement flows and customer funds.
• Ownership of multi-entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations, multi-currency reporting, and external financial statement audits.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large transaction-level datasets from processors or core banking systems.
• Experience applying AI to accounting workflows and improving processes in fast-moving environments.
• Ability to work from the New York City office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Early-stage or high-growth startup experience.
• CPA or equivalent qualification.
• Familiarity with money transmitter licensing, FBO account structures, or crypto and stablecoin settlement accounting.
• Experience with multi-book, multi-currency ERPs, Modern Treasury, Ramp, BigQuery, or comparable data tools.
