Senior Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: Redruth, United Kingdom; on-site role

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of buyers to achieve supplier on-time delivery and inventory reduction targets.
• Manage procurement strategies focused on cost optimisation, supplier reliability, risk mitigation, and early expediting of late orders.
• Work with SAP S/4HANA and the MRP system to support purchasing and planning activities.
• Build strategic supplier relationships in partnership with the Supplier Relationship Manager and Supplier Quality Engineer.
• Collaborate with operations, demand planning, and supply chain teams to align procurement with production schedules and inventory targets.
• Conduct regular one-to-ones, attend weekly site management meetings, and introduce continuous improvement processes.

Requirements

• Experience in strategic procurement, supplier relationship management, cost optimisation, and risk mitigation.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and coaching buyers, including performance management and negotiation development.
• Ability to make data-driven procurement decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ability to work on-site in Redruth, United Kingdom.
• Ability to travel to supplier sites.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
