Global Category Manager - Machining

What you will do

• Lead global strategy and ownership for the machining direct-materials category.
• Shape the three-year category roadmap, including supplier segmentation, risk management, and cost/value optimization.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships worldwide and improve OTD, PPM, capacity, and supply resilience.
• Lead sourcing activities including RFx, long-term agreements, cost models, and total-cost-of-ownership improvements.
• Drive localization, dual-sourcing, and VA/VE category projects across regional operations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to ensure supply continuity and qualification.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in procurement or category management for direct materials such as metals, machine parts, fabrication, or plastic products.
• Experience leading global and regional sourcing projects and supplier negotiations.
• Strong commercial acumen, contract management, analytical, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Ability to balance global strategy with regional operational priorities.
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems, plus strong Excel and analytics skills.
• English speaker required. Experience in multi-site or matrix manufacturing environments and exposure to industrial, mechanical, machinery, or similar supply bases.

• Knowledge of should-cost analysis, VA/VE, Design for Manufacturing, and supplier development.
