Sourcing Manager (Biotech)

Location: USA - Remote; the role is part of the Supply Chain and Ops Excellence organization located in Torrance, California. Travel of approximately 10–20% with overnight stays may be required.

Salary: $88,900–$125,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Develop and execute chemicals and contract manufacturing sourcing strategies from RFI/RFP creation through supplier negotiations, business awards, and Master Agreement implementation.
• Lead cost and service improvement initiatives with sourcing, purchasing, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives with strategic suppliers, including cost savings, lead-time and minimum order quantity reductions, improved inventory turns, and process improvements.
• Manage supplier transitions and cost-reduction projects through successful completion.
• Identify and execute risk-mitigation and supply-security strategies to prevent disruption of critical supplies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, supply chain management, finance, or logistics; an MBA is a plus.
• At least 5 years of sourcing experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or consumer packaged goods; chemical sourcing experience is preferred.
• Experience managing RFI/RFP workflows through supplier business awards and contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of cost drivers and their application to negotiations, sourcing strategies, and cost-improvement opportunities.

Nice to have

• 2–3 years of indirect sourcing experience covering MRO/facilities, IT, or marketing spend.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, lean principles, operational finance, strategic planning, or logistics.
• Two years of project management experience within a supply chain organization.
