Event Operations Manager (Audio Visual)

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States. Onsite work in a hotel/convention center environment, with possible work at multiple hotel locations. Irregular hours and on-call availability may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $53,210–$69,173 per year.

What you will do

• Manage daily floor activities and technician workflows to deliver audiovisual equipment and services on time and according to client and hotel requirements.
• Supervise scheduling, timekeeping, task delegation, billing review, equipment documentation, and inventory control.
• Meet with guests onsite, verify equipment setup, address service needs, and support client satisfaction and revenue through onsite upselling.
• Review quotes and recommend cost efficiencies in line with company procedures.
• Hire, lead, mentor, and motivate technicians and operational support staff.
• Coordinate training, performance management, salary administration, and development of technical and business skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 4 years of audiovisual and customer service or hospitality experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading workflows and team members.
• Working knowledge of audiovisual equipment in a live show environment.
• Proficiency with computer hardware, software, the Internet, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of heavier equipment.
