Senior Packaging Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Conduct commonality analyses across product designs, processes, machinery, materials, and measurement methods.
• Lead cross-functional Root Cause Corrective Action initiatives and apply Design of Experiments and statistical analysis to solve complex engineering problems.
• Perform factory Design for Mechanical Assembly and Automation evaluations for SSD assembly, including tolerance stack-ups, DFMEA, design package reviews, and machine and fixture development.
• Design SSD assembly jigs and fixtures through concept development, reverse engineering, and mechanical drawing creation.
• Oversee Product Qualification Packages covering specifications, packaging requirements, mechanical drawings, supplier DFM guidelines, and Quality Management Plans.
• Lead characterization and cost-reduction projects and support factory emergency taskforce operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering or science discipline.
• 3–8 years of engineering experience, preferably in the semiconductor and automation industry.
• Experience analyzing and resolving complex engineering challenges and presenting technical concepts and data to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Advanced knowledge of quality management tools including FMEA, 8D, and DMAIC, plus statistical analysis software such as JMP and Minitab.
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software is required.
• Hands-on experience with technical equipment, advanced metrology, and failure analysis techniques.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of mechanical commodities used in semiconductor manufacturing, including metals, plastics, rubbers, and adhesives.
• Experience with CNC milling, stamping, bending, injection molding, die casting, and extrusion.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks Flow Simulation.
• Strong self-direction, teamwork, and intercultural competence.
