Event Operations Manager (Audio Visual)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States; onsite hotel and convention center environment with possible work at multiple hotel locations, including irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Salary: $53,210.21–$69,173.27 per year

What you will do

• Manage daily floor operations and technician workflows to ensure audiovisual equipment and services are delivered on time and according to client and hotel requirements.
• Supervise team members, including scheduling, timekeeping, delegation, performance management, and development.
• Control equipment inventory, safety, security, quality assurance, and operational costs.
• Review billing and quotes, recommend cost efficiencies, and identify potential operational challenges.
• Meet with guests onsite, oversee equipment setups, and drive customer satisfaction and onsite upselling.
• Attend BEO, pre-construction, and pre-production meetings as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4+ years of audiovisual and customer service or hospitality experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading workflows and team members.
• Working knowledge of audiovisual equipment in a live-show environment.
• Proficiency with computer hardware, software, the Internet, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to meet the role’s physical requirements, including frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of over 100 pounds.
