Location: Long Beach, California, United States; occasional travel to test and launch sites, including shifted or weekend schedules for critical milestones

Salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Own the system-level design and integration of complex mechanisms such as thrust vector control systems.
  • Define concepts of operations, system requirements, architecture, verification plans, and success criteria.
  • Lead integrated product activities across mechanical design, actuators, GNC, avionics, and software.
  • Author and execute development and functional verification tests and support flight readiness.
  • Coordinate design, manufacturing, integration, and test schedules for complex mechanism systems.
  • Design test fixtures, specify sensors, develop test automation, and lead root-cause investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, manufacturing, assembling, or testing complex mechanical or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary projects and delivering against ambitious schedules.
  • Strong technical judgment and ability to communicate complex concepts to engineering and leadership audiences.
  • Experience balancing requirements, cost, and schedule while driving system integration and verification.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to test and launch sites and support shifted or weekend schedules when required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with actuator systems, flight mechanisms, or thrust vector control.
  • Motor-control tuning and model-based design with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Integrated hardware/software testing and verification experience.
  • Familiarity with reusability and rapid-iteration development environments.
