Specialty Systems Safety Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop software and systems engineering products supporting missile defense system design and development.
• Decompose and manage requirements across operational, flight-test, and ground-test contexts.
• Develop certification and verification packages for all levels of requirements.
• Conduct system safety analyses, including PHA, FHA, SHA, and O&SHA, in accordance with MIL-STD-882E.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and government and industry partners in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Must possess U.S. citizenship and a current, in-scope Secret or higher security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience, a master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience, or a PhD with 1+ year of related experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with requirements decomposition and management.
• Working knowledge of systems engineering principles, verification methods, requirements management tools such as DOORS, and systems safety engineering.
• Experience developing certification or verification packages and conducting comprehensive system safety analyses under MIL-STD-882E.
• Must be able to work onsite in an office environment in Huntsville, Alabama.

Nice to have

• Experience with requirement verification methods such as testing.
• Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification.
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering and associated tools.
• INCOSE or systems engineering certification.
