Location: Silver Spring, Maryland, United States; approximately 10% travel to suppliers, customers, and other sites
Salary: $100,000β$137,000 USD base pay per year for Maryland

What you will do
- Lead the development of innovative space mechanisms from concept through production implementation.
- Design mechanisms and structures in CAD and perform hand calculations and FEA.
- Define, trace, verify, and validate system requirements while maintaining verification matrices and risk management plans.
- Prepare technical documentation, including system design descriptions, CONOPS, ICDs, reports, and presentations.
- Own development schedules, milestone reviews, technical interchange meetings, and collaboration across system interfaces.
- Mentor engineers, improve engineering practices, and support proposals and custom statements of work.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in a relevant engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace mechanical development projects.
- Proficiency with CAD and FEA.
- Thorough understanding of aerospace standards, environments, verification tests, and requirements.
- Experience managing complex projects across organizational teams.
- For U.S. office work, eligibility under ITAR regulations is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee/asylee status, or the ability to obtain the required authorizations.

- Masterβs degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Proficiency with NX CAD and Simcenter FEA software.
- Strong task management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience adapting to changing priorities and resolving blockers quickly.
