Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer

Location: On-site at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. Travel of up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required.

Salary: $110,000–$138,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Support operations and sustainment activities for military and commercial SATCOM and NC3 systems.
• Engage government, corporate, defense-agency, and commercial stakeholders to drive mission-focused results.
• Analyze and maintain systems engineering documentation, capability requirements, and technical baselines.
• Apply government SEIT processes, CMMI frameworks, and Department of War acquisition best practices.
• Provide senior-level technical problem solving for legacy and transitioning strategic and tactical space-based communications capabilities.
• Coordinate systems engineering, integration, and test activities supporting operational readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering and integration associated with system acquisitions or operations and sustainment.
• Expertise in requirements development and analysis and systems engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of Agile software development processes and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and teamwork skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• An active DoD Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of experience in a Department of War program office and knowledge of DoD acquisition processes.
• 6+ years of experience with strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems.
• Experience in a CMMI environment and with change and configuration management processes.
• PMP certification.
