TL;DR
Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer (MILSATCOM): Supporting the sustainment and advancement of MILSATCOM and NC3 capabilities for Space Systems Command with an accent on systems engineering, technical baselines, requirements analysis, and engineering documentation. Focus on resolving complex technical challenges, integrating legacy and transitioning space-based communications systems, and improving Joint and Allied warfighter readiness.
Location: On-site in Colorado Springs, CO; conditions also list El Segundo, CA. Travel up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required.
Salary: $110,000–$161,000 per year.

What you will do
- Provide senior-level systems engineering and problem-solving support to government customers.
- Support MILSATCOM and NC3 operations, sustainment, integration, and test activities.
- Develop, analyze, and maintain requirements, systems engineering documentation, and capability artifacts.
- Manage technical baselines for legacy and transitioning space-based communications systems.
- Coordinate with Department of War agencies, government stakeholders, commercial partners, and internal teams.
- Support the Sustainment Integrated Product Team in improving Joint and Allied combat readiness.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is required, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of SE&I experience related to systems acquisition and/or operations and sustainment.
- Experience with requirements development and analysis, systems engineering documentation, Agile processes, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Nice to have
- 6+ years of experience in a Department of War program office and knowledge of acquisition processes.
- 6+ years of experience with strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems.
- Experience with CMMI, change management, and configuration management processes.
- PMI Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
