Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; onsite duty station.

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Support systems engineering across the acquisition lifecycle, from requirements analysis through system disposal.
• Design and develop system-of-systems architectures for Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management capabilities.
• Translate operational and functional requirements into technical requirements, system attributes, and architecture models.
• Drive interconnectivity and interoperability across sensors, weapons systems, program executive offices, services, and coalition partners.
• Assess technical risks, develop mitigation plans, and conduct trade-space analyses across cost, schedule, performance, and risk.
• Develop verification and validation strategies, test matrices, and acquisition execution plans with government, contractor, and operational stakeholders.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance must be maintained.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Ten years of directly related experience, including five years in a Department of Defense setting, preferred.
• Experience with requirements management and traceability using DOORS or Jira, including System Requirements Documents.
• Experience with DoD architecture frameworks, MBSE, SysML, Cameo or MagicDraw, systems engineering lifecycle practices, and verification planning.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud-based systems, Agile, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and DevOps.
• Knowledge of DoD 5000 series acquisition principles, including DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75.
• Experience translating technical specifications for senior civilian, military, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to create and interpret end-to-end system architecture diagrams and develop structural, behavioral, and parametric models.
