Equipment Specialist II (Manufacturing)

Location: De Soto, Kansas, United States; onsite. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

Panasonic Energy is expanding a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility supporting sustainable energy and electric vehicle technology.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, recover, and validate automated manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues using technical drawings and precision measurement tools.
• Lead PDCA-based problem solving, root cause investigations, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze equipment and production data to reduce defects, downtime, and recurring performance issues.
• Install and validate equipment modifications, engineering changes, upgrades, and process improvements.
• Provide technical guidance, training, coaching, and shift handoffs while coordinating with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; relevant experience may substitute.
• At least 4 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, equipment support, automation, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems independently.
• Working knowledge of PLC systems, controls software, automated manufacturing equipment, and vision-system troubleshooting.
• Experience with Excel, MES, Tableau, JMP, MATLAB, or similar data-analysis and manufacturing-support tools.
• Working-level English and valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction are required.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial technology.
• QET certification, Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher, and root cause analysis training.
• Six or more years of manufacturing or industrial equipment experience.
• Experience with Sysmac, Omron PLC software, CAD, automated inspection equipment, fabrication, machining, welding, or Python.
