Intern - Design Engineering (Commercial Refrigeration)

Location: Bridgeton, Missouri, United States; onsite. Relocation may be required for candidates who are not local.

What you will do

• Assist with concept layout, design, and development of refrigeration products, components, and services using 3D and 2D CAD software.
• Support new product development and follow processes for product specifications, releases, and engineering change notices.
• Contribute to design studies focused on innovation, quality, functionality, cost, and competitive technology.
• Use engineering tools including CAD, reliability analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and finite element analysis.
• Develop specifications, project plans, milestones, schedules, costs, and work breakdown structures while communicating project status.
• Participate in the twelve-week Ideation & Innovation Challenge and present a business proposal to organizational leaders.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program pursuing at least a bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, computer, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, maintain attention to detail, and interact with all organizational levels.
• Highly motivated and eager to learn.
• Ability to relocate if not local to Bridgeton, Missouri.

Nice to have

• Experience with 3D solid modeling CAD software, preferably SolidEdge or SolidWorks.
• Refrigeration or HVAC knowledge.
• Previous manufacturing internship experience.
• Understanding of refrigeration systems, thermodynamics, heat transfer, structural analysis, electrical wiring, or sheet metal design.
