Controls Systems Engineering Specialist (Embedded Systems)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days per week. Domestic relocation is available. Travel is expected at 20% or less.

Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year.

What you will do

• Develop control strategies, embedded software, requirements, algorithms, and scalable architectures for battery, diesel-electric, and hybrid machine platforms.
• Lead the architecture, design, development, integration, and validation of advanced machine control systems from concept through field implementation.
• Drive development through simulation, laboratory validation, machine testing, and field learning.
• Collect and analyze system data to validate software, diagnose issues, and guide technical decisions.
• Lead cross-functional teams through complex technical challenges and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience developing and applying embedded systems for machine control.
• Extensive experience with requirements analysis methods, tools, and techniques.
• Strong analytical thinking, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global machine controls, machine development, validation, or integration.
• Knowledge of powershift transmissions, transmission calibration, drivetrain controls, and machine productivity features.
• Experience with on-machine or drivetrain simulator development, troubleshooting, calibration, and validation.
• Experience with CAN, J1939, XCP, electronic control modules, and distributed embedded control systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and serving as a technical expert in controls, software, or systems engineering.
