Intern - Engineering (Commercial Refrigeration)

Location: Suwanee, Georgia, United States — onsite. Ability to relocate is required if not local.

What you will do

• Support the design, development, testing, and improvement of commercial refrigeration systems and components.
• Perform engineering calculations, collect and analyze data, and prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Create and update engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and controlled documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Management, Controls, and other cross-functional teams to improve product performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability.
• Research components, materials, technologies, and industry practices while supporting continuous improvement and value-engineering activities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, interact with all organizational levels, and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills and motivation to learn.
• Ability to relocate to Suwanee, Georgia if not local.

Nice to have

• Junior or senior standing at the start of the internship.
• Coursework or project experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, machine design, instrumentation, or related subjects.
• Experience with 3D CAD, AutoCAD, schematic tools, data-analysis software, programming, or engineering simulation tools.
• Hands-on experience through laboratories, student design teams, research, prior internships, or personal engineering projects.
• Interest in commercial refrigeration, HVAC, controls, product development, testing, or manufacturing.
