Financial Analyst II - Liquidity Regulatory Reporting (Finance)

Location: Hybrid, requiring four days per week in-office at One M&T Plaza in Buffalo, New York, United States

Salary: $62,200–$103,600 annual USD

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze complex financial schedules, reconciliations, and bank regulatory reports.
• Conduct technical research and interpret financial, tax, and regulatory information for senior management, regulators, and audit stakeholders.
• Perform variance analysis, data integrity testing, general ledger activities, and financial data interpretation.
• Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls while escalating identified risks.
• Support project design and lead projects of moderate scope, including problem resolution and report submissions.
• Cross-train new team members and present subject-matter findings to managers or peers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience, or an associate degree and at least four years of experience in accounting, auditing, operations, or financial institutions.
• Good knowledge of finance and accounting concepts, business operations, bank products, and the banking industry.
• High-level proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow financial reporting, risk, regulatory, and internal control standards.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates requiring sponsorship now or in the future, including F-1 visa holders, will not be considered.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience preparing and analyzing FR 2052a, FDIC 370, FR Y-15, CALL, and FR Y-9C regulatory reports.
• Experience with data visualization or data querying applications.
