Financial Reporting Manager

Salary: $115,900–$152,100 per year

What you will do

• Prepare, review, and deliver quarterly and annual statutory financial statements, including footnote disclosures.
• Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, including PBC requests and audit deliverables.
• Interpret statutory reporting requirements and present reporting results to senior leadership, regulators, auditors, and the Board of Directors.
• Execute and document financial reporting controls, including statement tie-outs, disclosure reviews, fluctuation analyses, and quality assurance procedures.
• Guide offshore team members and manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines.
• Improve reporting processes, strengthen controls, and produce financial analyses that communicate trends, business drivers, and results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 6+ years of experience with audited financial statements and disclosures.
• 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, analysis, and problem-solving.
• 3+ years of experience using reporting tools, applications, and queries to create or enhance reports, dashboards, and decision-support analytics.
• 3+ years of experience with Workiva (Wdesk) or another financial reporting platform for preparing and reviewing financial statements and disclosures.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from Boston or Springfield, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation and knowledge of insurance and investment statutory accounting principles.
• Experience with SAP general ledger systems, reporting cubes, data warehouses, and multiple financial data sources.
• Experience with Power BI or Alteryx, plus advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience validating and testing financial data and reports for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
