Lab/Facility Chemist III (Environmental Waste)

Salary: $86,400–$118,800 per year, depending on hiring locality.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples for organic and inorganic constituents using approved EPA methods, company SOPs, and work instructions.
• Operate laboratory instruments, manage sequencing and data processing, perform basic maintenance and repairs, and prepare analytical standards.
• Validate analytical methods and complete initial and annual Demonstration of Capability requirements before reporting data.
• Identify chemical contents, research appropriate treatment studies, and support compliant treatment and disposal decisions.
• Help develop SOPs, formulas, processes, and methods for solving technical problems.
• Maintain accurate documentation, quality-control calculations, and a clean, safe laboratory environment.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of relevant work experience in chemistry, waste disposal, or a related field.
• Knowledge of chemistry principles, environmental sample analysis, and waste-processing protocols.
• Experience with quality-management standards, including ISO and NELAC.
• Knowledge of RCRA, TSCA, and applicable state regulations.
• Ability to analyze data accurately, identify inconsistencies, present findings clearly, and solve problems.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and waste-stream reporting software.
