Tool Maker (Manufacturing)

Location: Belfast, Tooling Engineering; onsite hands-on work in production facilities and on the shop floor

hirify.global Defence and Space develops and manufactures aerospace and defence systems, with this role supporting production tooling operations in Belfast.

What you will do

• Manufacture, maintain, repair, modify, install, and service a diverse range of production tooling.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance and tooling modifications in line with engineering standards and delivery schedules.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and tooling issues using a hands-on troubleshooting approach.
• Support the installation, siting, and alignment of tooling systems across production facilities.
• Maintain precise tool specifications and support calibration and maintenance of related metrology equipment.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and tooling teams to reduce downtime and improve tooling performance.

Requirements

• Completed a recognised mechanical engineering or toolmaking apprenticeship.
• At least three years of proven post-apprenticeship hands-on tooling experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from complex engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and tooling faults.
• Working knowledge of health and safety standards, risk assessments, and safe systems of work in manufacturing.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills when working with team leaders, quality engineers, and operations teams.
