Laboratory Technician I - Micro (Microbiology)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa, USA; candidates should live within a commutable distance. Microbiology, 3rd shift: Tuesday–Saturday, 12:00 a.m.–8:30 a.m.

What you will do

• Prepare sample batches, weigh samples, prepare solutions, and conduct assigned microbiological analyses.
• Operate required laboratory equipment and demonstrate proficiency in core analytical methods.
• Record test data and results accurately in logbooks, record systems, BookMaster, and eLIMS.
• Identify rechecks and analytical, method, or matrix-related difficulties, and report proposed solutions.
• Maintain clean glassware, organized records, and a safe laboratory environment.
• Follow quality, confidentiality, health, safety, and environmental requirements while supporting client and departmental needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree, or 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Responsive, independent, and action-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work the 3rd shift from Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 a.m.–8:30 a.m.
• Ability to work onsite in Des Moines, Iowa, within a commutable distance.
• Ability to stand, walk, perform repetitive hand movements, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
