Salary: $18.65–$19.90 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do
- Perform admitting and preregistration duties for hospital patients.
- Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, process physician orders, and complete medical necessity and compliance checks.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, select plan codes, document financial liabilities, and collect point-of-service and past-due balances.
- Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other required patient forms, obtaining signatures and maintaining documentation.
- Audit patient accounts across employees, departments, and facilities; correct discrepancies and provide statistical reports to Patient Access leadership.
- Use ABN software to screen Medicare medical necessity and inform patients of potential non-payment.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in patient access or a leadership role.
- CHAA and/or CRCR certification; certification is company-paid.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, denials, authorizations, and benefits verification.
- Knowledge of health insurance requirements and medical terminology, CPT, or procedure codes.
- Ability to meet compliance, audit, point-of-service collection, and customer-service standards.
- Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
Nice to have
- Associate degree, preferably in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Openness to using AI and emerging technology to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
