Laboratory Technician I, Sanger

Location: Onsite in South Plainfield, New Jersey, United States. Monday–Friday shift from 6:30 PM to 3:00 AM EST; overtime, weekends, and alternative shifts may occasionally be required.

Salary: $16.50–$20.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Follow laboratory safety protocols, SOPs, and site trainer direction during sample handling, processing, and documentation.
• Sort incoming samples and prepare sequencing templates through amplification and PCR purification.
• Assist with sequencing-template purification and load samples onto sequencing machines.
• Maintain clean work areas and handle labware washing and biohazardous or hazardous waste packaging.
• Communicate with customers and internal departments by email and phone.
• Work with laboratory automation platforms and support processing during a fast-paced evening shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• AAS degree or equivalent laboratory work experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of laboratory work experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Attention to detail, deadline management, adaptability, and effective teamwork.
• Ability to work onsite in South Plainfield, New Jersey, Monday through Friday from 6:30 PM to 3:00 AM EST.
