Senior Library Manager, Business Systems

Location: Hybrid or onsite at the Milton Keynes office, United Kingdom; office attendance is expected approximately once every four weeks or more often as required by business needs.

Salary: £47,389–£56,535 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the delivery, operation, and full lifecycle management of library technology systems, products, and services.
• Translate business requirements into system designs, functional specifications, and delivery plans with stakeholders and partners.
• Develop systems strategy, policies, procurement activity, governance, performance measures, and continuous improvement processes.
• Maintain resilient support processes for core library systems, including daytime and out-of-hours coverage.
• Manage suppliers and collaborate with Digital Services, Information Security, Procurement, Data Protection, and Knowledge and Information Management Systems teams.
• Lead and develop technical staff, manage performance and objectives, and provide systems leadership across Library Services.

Requirements

• Higher education qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience supporting and maintaining library systems, including access and authentication systems such as EZproxy, Athens, or Shibboleth.
• Experience meeting cybersecurity requirements and applying IT support methodologies and processes.
• Experience administering relational databases such as MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Advanced experience developing modern applications with web-scripting languages such as PHP or Perl.
• Experience with web and user interface design, web standards, usability, accessibility, and Linux administration, plus proven technical team leadership.

Nice to have

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in a computer-related discipline.
• Recognised relevant professional qualification.
