TL;DR
IT Manager (Manufacturing Operations) (MES/Manufacturing IT): Leading and improving the MES and manufacturing IT environment supporting 24x7 production at the Caswell UK site with an accent on reliability, operational ownership, and team leadership. Focus on managing mission-critical systems, leading MES upgrades and modernization, and integrating manufacturing systems across Engineering, Quality, Automation, and IT.

What you will do
- Own the reliability, availability, performance, support, and continuous improvement of site MES and manufacturing IT services.
- Lead and develop the MES IT team through technical direction, coaching, resource planning, and career development.
- Manage major incidents, root-cause analysis, change management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Automation, Infrastructure, and IT teams to deliver manufacturing IT and MES solutions.
- Lead MES upgrades, migrations, integrations, and modernization initiatives while executing the site technology roadmap.
- Manage internal and external technical resources, vendors, and technology partners, while reducing dependence on legacy technologies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with MES, manufacturing applications, factory automation, or manufacturing IT.
- 5+ years of experience leading technical, MES, or application support teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, MES workflows, equipment integration, manufacturing data, databases, integrations, infrastructure, and IT/OT environments.
- Experience supporting mission-critical systems in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.
- Strong incident management, troubleshooting, change management, stakeholder management, people leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience leading MES upgrades, migrations, modernization, or transformation programmes.
Nice to have
- PROMIS MES experience, especially PROMIS on VAX/VMS, including Datalink, Interactive Scripts, ODS, and VMS/DCL scripting.
- Oracle SQL, manufacturing databases, Linux, and modern server environments.
- MES integrations with ERP, Quality, Engineering, Automation, and other manufacturing systems.
- Manufacturing cybersecurity, OT environments, and ITIL or similar service-management practices.
- Experience in semiconductor, wafer fabrication, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing.
