Staff Product Designer - Growth (AI)

Location: Remote across Canada and the US

Annual salary: $144,000–$225,000; most new hires join around $180,000.

What you will do

• Shape customer experiences from sign-up through onboarding, setup, and the first 90 days of product usage.
• Identify and remove friction that affects activation, conversion, retention, and product value.
• Own activation metrics and use research, behavioral data, and experiments to guide product decisions.
• Design, run, and evaluate experiments, translating results into actionable design improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data specialists, and designers on cohesive, scalable experiences.
• Use storytelling to align stakeholders and apply AI tools to prototyping, research synthesis, pattern identification, and data exploration.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional product design experience, ideally in SaaS or another complex digital product environment.
• Experience designing for growth, including activation, onboarding, conversion funnels, and customer journeys.
• Strong understanding of growth metrics and measurable product outcomes.
• Experience designing and running experiments, analyzing results, and combining qualitative research with quantitative and behavioral data.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, data specialists, and designers.
• Strong communication, storytelling, stakeholder management, independent decision-making, and practical experience using AI tools in design workflows.
