Sr Software Dev Engineer (Node.js)

Location: United States of America; flexible hybrid work with occasional in-person events or team sessions

Salary: $128,250–$266,875 per year, with potential discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Own the lifecycle of supported Node.js runtimes, including new releases, security updates, and end-of-life retirements.
• Build and maintain Node.js packages, container images, internal-library integrations, and automated release pipelines.
• Develop reusable CI/CD and GitHub Actions workflows for Node.js applications and libraries.
• Automate platform maintenance, testing, release validation, and recurring operational work.
• Troubleshoot runtime, build, packaging, container, and dependency issues affecting engineering teams.
• Partner with security, operating system, container, CI/CD, application, and source code management teams while documenting platform changes and migrations.

Requirements

• Strong software development skills in Node.js and JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience maintaining shared developer platforms, runtime environments, or infrastructure used by multiple engineering teams.
• Strong Linux, container, CI/CD, build automation, and system troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, GitLab, and modern source code management practices.
• Experience with releases, dependencies, security updates, and supported-version lifecycles.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, with strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Go, or other programming languages.
• Experience with RPM packaging, enterprise Linux, native Node.js addons, or compiling language runtimes from source.
