Staff Software Engineer (AI Platform)

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for the engineering team and make major platform architecture decisions.
• Design and operate AI-assisted development systems, including agent orchestration, task decomposition, output evaluation, and quality-control pipelines.
• Define standards for code review, observability, deployment practices, and AI-delegatable work.
• Uplift engineers through pairing, design reviews, RFCs, ADRs, and mentorship.
• Shape technical strategy by translating customer problems into scalable architectural approaches.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2–3 years at Staff or Principal level, or equivalent scope.
• Experience leading the architecture of a platform or product at significant scale.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, data-intensive applications, or multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• Experience designing agent pipelines, managing production-scale model context windows, and building evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with public APIs, productized integrations, and MCP servers in brownfield environments.
• Familiarity with AWS, Java, TypeScript, and React or Angular.

Nice to have

• Experience improving the effectiveness of other engineers and building internal developer tooling.
• Background in marketing technology, analytics, or data-heavy SaaS products.
• Experience at a private-equity-backed or venture-backed company during a growth phase.
