Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Francisco, CA; Austin, TX; New York, NY; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $173,000 – $250,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build core primitives for entity ownership, audit, authorization, and orchestration.
• Develop pipelines to process unstructured vendor material for automated site design and scheduling.
• Create live models of AI infrastructure projects to replace static Gantt charts with self-updating workflows.
• Build agent platforms that wrap AI in real authorization, audit, and guardrails for safe system operation.
• Define interactions with external vendor systems and ingest complex formats like KMZ, BIM, and Revit.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to move toward ambiguity and build maps in unfamiliar domains.
• Strong taste in abstraction and rigor in domain modeling.
• Experience turning messy, unstructured data into usable systems.
• Fluency with AI tooling such as LLM APIs, MCP servers, and agentic frameworks.
• Proven track record of shipping production code in a collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with MLE work, specifically extraction and synthesis from unstructured data.
• Knowledge of workflow and orchestration engines like Temporal, Cadence, or Airflow.
• Familiarity with geospatial (GIS/KMZ) or BIM (Revit/IFC) formats.
• Experience with authorization and policy engines (OPA, Zanzibar-style).
• Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, and Postgres.
