Staff Software Engineer, DevOps

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $105,540–$168,860 CAD annual base salary, plus variable incentive pay and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead DevOps architecture, technical standards, modernization initiatives, and engineering best practices across multiple teams.
• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Architect and maintain highly available cloud environments across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Build Infrastructure-as-Code solutions and automated provisioning, configuration, compliance, and operational support.
• Design containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment patterns, orchestration, scalability, and observability.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, incident response, security, disaster recovery, and fault-tolerant architectures in partnership with Security and Operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale cloud infrastructure and software delivery platforms.
• Experience leading complex DevOps, cloud modernization, or platform engineering initiatives in SaaS organizations.
• Advanced expertise with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CloudFormation, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, cloud-native architecture, networking, identity management, cloud security, and compliance controls.
• Ability to influence technical strategy, mentor engineers, and solve complex infrastructure and application challenges across teams.

Nice to have

• AWS, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, or other cloud platform certifications.
• Experience operating large-scale Kubernetes environments and globally distributed cloud platforms.
• Expertise in disaster recovery, business continuity, OAuth, WS-Security, and encryption at rest and in transit.
• Experience with SRE practices, observability frameworks, Agile environments, Jira, and modern DevOps toolchains.
